"Before DAJRIM, we were just farmers struggling to survive. Now, we are business owners. The processing center has changed the economy of our entire village."

Northern Ghana · Social Enterprise
Empowering rural women and farming communities across Northern Ghana through agriculture, value addition, and inclusive economic growth.
The Soul of our Work
"There is a woman in Bunkpurugu who wakes before sunrise…"
She walks through parched earth to tend her groundnut farm, her children still asleep. Her hands know the soil — how it breathes before rain, how it hardens in harmattan. She has farmed this land all her life, yet she has never truly owned it. She has harvested shea nuts by the basketful, yet earned less than a dollar a day.
DAJRIM was born from her story. Founded in the heart of Northern Ghana, we exist to close the gap between the labour of rural women and the prosperity it deserves. We work across Tamale, Karaga, Gambaga, Bunkpurugu, and Yunyoo — regions where resilience is abundant, but resources are scarce.
"We believe in the dignity of smallholder farming. In the economic power of women's cooperatives. In the promise of youth who refuse to abandon the land."
From climate-smart practices to market linkages, from value-addition training to cooperative governance — DAJRIM roots every solution in community wisdom, and builds every pathway with the people who will walk it.
Our Work
Eight pillars of transformation, each one designed with communities, not for them.
Regenerative agriculture practices that restore soil health, increase yields, and protect livelihoods for the long term.
Scaling up value addition through community-owned processing infrastructure and quality grading for premium markets.
Building governance-strong, financially resilient cooperatives that give women collective bargaining power and economic agency.
Connecting smallholder farmers to fair buyers, aggregators, and export markets, cutting out exploitative middlemen.
Drought-tolerant seed varieties, water harvesting, and agroforestry to build resilience in the face of a changing climate.
Equipping the next generation of rural entrepreneurs with business skills, digital tools, and startup capital access.
Maize flour milling, groundnut oil extraction, sorghum processing, transforming raw produce into packaged, branded products.
Village savings groups, land rights advocacy, and civic literacy, because economic empowerment requires social transformation.
Our Stewardship
"When a woman earns from the shea butter, she pressed herself, she does not just earn income. She earns standing."

Why It Matters
Northern Ghana's rural communities hold centuries of agricultural knowledge, yet they remain among the most underserved in the country. DAJRIM is changing that equation.
Strengthening local food systems so communities can feed themselves first, sell second.
Ensuring women control the value they create from farm to market.
Building the knowledge and infrastructure to survive and thrive despite erratic rainfall.
Fair prices, transparent supply chains, and models that lift farmers.
Every cooperative strengthened is one less family migrating south in desperation.
"When women thrive, communities thrive. When farms prosper, children eat, schools fill, futures open. This is not charity. This is investment."
